PermitCore vs Cryptolens
If you're comparing PermitCore against Cryptolens, there's one thing worth knowing first:
Cryptolens is now operated under the Devolens company brand —
Cryptolens remains the name of the licensing platform itself, but its pricing page now lives at
devolens.com.
cryptolens.io/pricing
now redirects (HTTP 301) to devolens.com/pricing. Figures below come from that
current Devolens pricing page. Pricing on either side can change; verify current numbers
directly with the vendor before deciding.
Pricing
| Tier | PermitCore | Devolens (formerly Cryptolens) |
|---|---|---|
| Free | €0/mo — 50 activations/mo pool | €0/mo — 10 active license keys, 15 end users, 1 API call per 10 seconds, evaluation only |
| Starter | €29/mo — 1,000 activations/mo pool | — (no tier at this price point) |
| Professional | €59/mo — 10,000 activations/mo pool | Business — €299/mo, 5,000 active licenses, 1M API calls/mo |
| Enterprise | €299/mo — unlimited pool, self-hosted option | Scale €699/mo (10,000 licenses) or Enterprise (custom, unlimited) |
Note the units differ: PermitCore's limit is an activation pool (device activations per month, resets monthly), while Devolens' limit is active license keys (a standing count, not a monthly quota). They're not directly interchangeable numbers — check which shape fits how your product is actually licensed.
Licensing models
Devolens' pricing page lists support for subscriptions, usage-based, floating, node-locked, SDK-based, offline, and user-account licensing — a broadly similar model set to PermitCore's own node-locked, floating, offline (ECDSA P-256 signed tokens), and metered licensing. Neither vendor gates these core models behind a separate add-on purchase.
