Terms of Service

Last updated: August 18, 2026  ·  Effective: August 18, 2026

By creating a PermitCore account or using our services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Definitions

"PermitCore" refers to the license management platform and its operator. "Tenant" or "Customer" refers to any business or individual who registers and uses PermitCore. "End User" refers to the customer's own customers who activate licenses via the public API.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PermitCore, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have the authority to bind your organization, and agree to comply with these Terms and all applicable laws. These Terms apply to all users including free-tier accounts.

3. Description of Service

PermitCore provides software license key management infrastructure including: generation and storage of encrypted license keys, public validation/activation API endpoints, a white-label license store, analytics, webhooks, and team management. Service features vary by billing tier.

4. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately at [email protected] of any unauthorized use.
  • One account per business entity unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use PermitCore to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Distribute malware, spyware, or other malicious software
  • Infringe intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to PermitCore's systems or other customers' data
  • Use the public validation API for purposes other than validating your own legitimate software licenses
  • Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract PermitCore's proprietary algorithms or database schemas
  • Resell PermitCore access without explicit written authorization

6. Payment Terms

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance via Stripe, in EUR, plus applicable tax calculated at checkout based on your billing location. For eligible plans, checkout may run through Stripe's Managed Payments service. Where it does, Stripe (through its Link service) is the merchant of record for that purchase — it is the seller for that transaction and independently handles indirect tax (VAT/GST/sales tax) calculation and remittance, fraud prevention, payment disputes, and transaction-level customer support for it. Where Managed Payments is not used for a plan (currently: Enterprise), PermitCore is the seller and Stripe acts solely as PermitCore's payment processor. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. A refund for a Managed-Payments transaction is handled under Stripe's own terms as merchant of record, in addition to this section; for all other transactions, we do not issue refunds for partial periods except where required by law. Failed payments may result in service downgrade to the Free tier after a 7-day grace period.

7. Right of Withdrawal (EU/EEA Consumers)

PermitCore is intended for use by businesses and professionals acting in that capacity. If you are nonetheless contracting as a consumer — a natural person acting for purposes outside your trade, business, craft, or profession — and you are resident in the EU or EEA, you have the right to withdraw from a paid plan within 14 days of subscribing, without giving any reason, for a full refund. By activating a paid plan or any paid-tier feature before that 14-day period ends, you expressly request that supply of the service begin immediately and acknowledge that, once the service has been fully supplied, you lose this right of withdrawal; if you withdraw before it is fully supplied, you may owe an amount proportionate to what was already supplied up to that point. To exercise this right, contact [email protected].

8. License Store Transactions

PermitCore's License Store feature allows Tenants to sell software licenses directly to their end users. PermitCore acts solely as the platform; all transactions are between the Tenant and their end user. PermitCore takes no commission. Tenants are solely responsible for their own refund policies, customer obligations, and tax compliance for sales made through their License Store.

9. Zero-Knowledge Encryption

License keys are encrypted client-side using AES-256-GCM before being sent to PermitCore servers. PermitCore does not possess, and cannot recover, plaintext license keys. This is a feature and a limitation: if you lose your encryption passphrase, PermitCore cannot assist in recovering the original license key values. PermitCore is not liable for data loss resulting from lost passphrases.

10. Service Level & Availability

PermitCore targets high availability but does not guarantee specific uptime percentages for Free or Starter plans. Professional and Enterprise plans may have uptime SLAs as described on the Pricing page. Planned maintenance is announced in advance. PermitCore is not liable for downtime caused by factors outside its reasonable control.

11. Intellectual Property

PermitCore and its licensors own all intellectual property rights in the platform. Your use of the service does not transfer any ownership rights to you. You retain all ownership of your own license key data, customer data, and any content you upload. You grant PermitCore a limited license to store and process your data solely to provide the service.

12. Data & Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, our Data Processing Agreement (DPA). By using the service, you agree to those policies.

13. Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. You may cancel your account via the billing settings. PermitCore may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or at our discretion with 30 days notice. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days for export purposes and then deleted.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. PermitCore does not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for your specific use case. You use the service at your own risk.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PermitCore's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to PermitCore in the 12 months preceding the claim. PermitCore is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where PermitCore is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email to the account's registered address at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
